Would also love for it to be illegal for athletes who competed at Worlds to compete at The Summit (with the exception of alternates who never took the mat).
I like this.

Initial thoughts from hearing this concept - Wish this was exclusively for senior aged kids... Who have gone through the ranks and won't be burn out by "already winning worlds" or "already winning the summit"... After all, isn't that why we don't have juniors at worlds anymore? Would also love for it to be illegal for athletes who competed at Worlds to compete at The Summit (with the exception of alternates who never took the mat). Those kids already had their big moment, let these kids have theirs... Without teams sandbagging to win. Love the recognition for these lower level athletes. Seems like a great first step idea.
This would exclude Junior 5 which already had worlds taken away.... doesnt seem fair... and would continue to thin jr 5 teams which when atheletes reach the ripe old age of 12 want to be on senior worlds teams.Initial thoughts from hearing this concept - Wish this was exclusively for senior aged kids... So if these athletes can't compete at Worlds, why should they be able to compete at The Summit (the new lower-levels version of Worlds)? This would exclude Junior 5 which already had worlds taken away.... doesnt seem fair... and would continue to thin jr 5 teams which when atheletes reach the ripe old age of 12 want to be on senior worlds teams.
NCA has a system of checking how many crossovers a gym has (can't exceed 5), I can't imagine it being too hard for them to figure out.We need a better athlete registration process first. :)
I love it. "Shenanigans" is also the name of the restaurant that the cop named Farve liked in the movie "Super Troopers."I'm a sucker for good movie quotes. And shenanigans.

I just don't get this at all. Does the USASF not think that cheer parents can have more then one kid? For a parent to go to worlds and then stick around for the summit just seems impossible. Why Orlando again? Why the week after worlds? Why not keep the video judging? Keep the kids pushing to try to achieve worlds!! One more thing. If a kid is on a junior 5 team going to the summit and a worlds team how could they be getting ready for both? Not possible. Terrible idea :(
I wonder what they will do for partial bid for grand champs who are mini. Will they allow it to be passed to another team in the gym? Or just automatically forfeit it?
This is not a USASF sponsored event. It's Varsity (spare me the arguments). They are an event producer and are free to create any event they like.
Customers are also free to not attend.
Adding NCA in 2014? (With no disrespect intended towards my wonderful bretheren over at UCA) This is great news.... and the quickest way to win me over :)We've always done UCA Nationals, but it would be nice to make this the goal, and now we'll go to NCA instead of UCA. Nobody wants to do Disney that many times in one year. NCA 2014!
Welcome AshleeMarie. Fancy seein' you here.Exactly. And UCA got to set up an additional air conditioned tent within the Wide World of Sports to accomadate the competition. I can imagine Varsity All Star doing the same thing.
Can I get an AMEN!!!!!!This is not a USASF sponsored event. It's Varsity (spare me the arguments). They are an event producer and are free to create any event they like.
