It is always a given that when a division is listed, it is All Girl. Anytime it is "Coed" it will be noted.

Most of those small senior 5 teams are already struggling to get 20 good athletes. I dont think theyll be switching to med. and yeah, large senior is gonna be dead. I'm not upset about that though.

Totally agree. Skilled women are easier to find than skilled boys, and they tend to pay. It is amazing the joy at the perceived destruction of large senior by the very people who chose not to participate in the division on this thread. All in the name of what is better for the sport, which seems to be mostly speculation and assumption. We'll see. I'll bet large senior grows, the big three become the big 5-6. Again, it was very smart to leave the option open and the division viable instead of letting the barbarians at the gate get it written off with a rules change.

Don't get me wrong, I love large senior. I just loved it more when there were more teams, and I am a firm believer that 20 to 36 is a hard jump. If this leads us down the road to getting rid of 'large=36 across the board', but there are once more two all girl divisions that are brimming full of talent, you bet your buttons I'm excited. And I would truly love having CEA with 3 AG teams. I've actually been attempting to decide what Med AG would be called. MElite? MAGlite? MAG? I wish I were better at names.. :/

I'm not sure what my Daughters will decide to do but it makes me really sad. I guess will have to wait until after tryouts to see what kind of numbers and skills we have. We love competing against the "Big 3". It has given us our drive.

I don't hate the idea of this division, I just wish they would have went ahead of moved the number of Large down to 30 (or 32 can't remember) like it was voted on. Get the "death of large teams at 36" over with instead of dragging it out for another year or more. I am sure I will love the teams that move to this divisions next year I just will not understand the reasoning behind not going by what was voted on. It can be explained over and over by those in charge but no matter what they say I will not understand how you can take what was voted on and turn it into this.

I can only imagine how WCSS, CEA, F5, Tsunami, or Fame would look if they dropped 6 of their girls and took the best of the best to field a team of 30. I don't see them leaving large this next year but it would be very interesting if some of them did.

All i have to say is this, everyone says it's better for our sport because then others outside of the sport can understand it easier, am i the only one who says to heck with these people? why is 36 so much harder to understand than having 30 on the floor? not trying to start an argument at all, i just don't understand that entire logic. If someone TRULY wants to understand our sport, they can figure out that large is 36 and small is 20 =/. Other than that I LOVE large senior, it is my favorite division out of all of them, so I am sad about this. I have to say i honestly think that this, "it's going to help us out in the long run because we need more competition, is a little absurb." Here this and respond how you would like: Two years from now when CEA, F5, and WC decide, they want to move to the medium division since it is literally dead now, and they want to compete against the other teams who were brave enough to make this move, who will be the front runner then? These teams you think you have drawn in? Or CEA F5 and WC, because i'm going to bet money that when they cut 6 girls off the team, they will have an even better chance at winning a globe, then there goes that competition that got brought in, scared right back into senior open 5. IMO

If it does that it will push us forward to 24. (which I say is in about 10 years).

You are an astute poster. This will defenitely help CEA. The worlds teams will still be based where the Popes or Kelly spend the majority of the time, K-Vegas and Raleigh, but it gives them many more slots for athletes and options. I know a lot of level 5 kids got turned away from the surrounding areas this year due to limited postitions on Worlds teams. It would make sense to have 2 level 5 All Girl Senior teams in Kernersville and at least one in Raleigh. More youth kids with doubles on Juniors freeing those kids to move up. Depending on the men available, probably co-ed teams at both locations and more, with girls crossing over to fly on co-ed and do whatever they do on All Girl. I would assume all these teams will quickly become high profile due to the talent in the pipeline, and most know what the Jr and Youth teams have been doing the last few years. I say without hestitation that cheer fans like kids with skills. Again, it only bothers me if the 36 athlete teams actually do die, as I LIKE those routines the best. Again, you never know what will happen, but I'd sort of like to see Courtney throw her hat in on Small Senior but that will depend on what is best for everyone and numbers. DISCLAIMER, just brainstorming my personal pov on the boards. Nothing else.

Well dad, there are agendas and politics galore, but remember, the promotors want more competition fees, entry fees and food and merchandise sales, so whatever brings in more kids and puts more rumps in the seats is A OK.
