I don't think a lot of bashing is taking place at this point. Disagreement and people questioning decisions, yes, but I think we are past the point of bashing and moving forward to making changes-something that is extremely important and useful. For a conversation that has a very personal impact of many people here, I am actually surprised this has been as helpful as it has been.
It happened, they have their jackets. We are now looking into ways to make the sport as a whole more fair for everyone involved and move us all forward into a legitimate sport where things like this do not occur. It is not against the rules now, but it might be someday. These are discussions that never took place in the past when decisions were made for cheer, and I'm glad we can at least voice concerns and come up with solutions that may eventually take root.
Thanks.I have heard estimates of 125,000 to 300,000 Allstar cheerleaders. As there is no tracking system setup everyone is just guessing.
The uca letter sent out said this is the largest UCA Nationals in history. Does anybody know what the varsity arena is like. Small/large, inside/outside. There is no info on the website
UCA is held at the Milkhouse, same place as Worlds. They used to use the Indiana Jones theater as the second location but I assume they use Jostens now.
This year they are using Milkhouse, Indiana Jones, Jostens AND the "varsity arena" which is actually a climate controlled tent. aggie1983 i believe someone else posted that the Varsity Arena was surprisingly nice....perhaps in the UCA high school nationals thread....
Thank you! So a gym (that I assume is Rockstar) created a team specifically for the NCA Experience (aka to win a jacket) primarily with with higher level athletes. Hmmmm......not sure how I feel about that. I will say gyms will utilize athletes from other teams within the gym to fill out some lower level teams so those athletes do get to be part of a full team. But to just totally sandbag (meaning the majority of the athletes) to win is just pathetic IN MY OPINION. To me that's not a win. I would rather go up against a really good team who pushes me to do my best.
That been said, in no way does it make it right for an athlete to point at another and call them a cheater. I realize these kids are upset, but I would be so upset with my daughter if she ever behaved like that. She can certainly say that to me in private but that's just lowering yourself to their level.
If there is a coach from either of these gyms on the Fierceboard and would like to clarify and/or defend their actions, please come on here and do so.
