It's really not that inappropriate.
its simple, its more than likely that it was a car wash fundraiser ( the media twists words around ), you wear bathing suits when you have a carwash, most girls at that age wear bikinis. I do not see where the coach is to blame. The parents are the ones who more than likely bought the bikini.
Well do you expect them to be washing in winter coats and snow pants?
Have you gone to a beach? Have you gone to a water park? If my eyes aren't deceiving me I'm pretty sure tons of teen girls go to places like those in bikinis. But of course when it relates to cheerleading bikinis aren't acceptable.

I know this wasn't directed to me, but you're not washing a car at the beach. You're swimming...which is what a bathing suit is for. Not strutting around at a school function.
Girls like to show of their bodies, I know that's like one of the seven deadly sins in cheer world but it's true. And just because they decide to wear bikinis at a school sponsored function to do something as simple as washing a car does not mean that they're doing it to promote themselves sexually so I honestly don't get why it's so inappropriate.
It's just kind of a no brainer to me...like can you wear a bikini to school? No, so why can you do it with a school activity? It's just ridiculously unnecessary for a carwash.
