All I'm going to say is...A pretty face will get you so far in this sport now a days. Forget talent, as long as you are pretty, have abs,& have a 2by2 video you will be praised in this sport by many crazy obbsessive fans.

I don't like the videos, new tv shows or meet and greets at competitions. It's all over rated....I miss how this sport use to be.

One of our practice shirts says "There is no such thing as purple points" on the front, and on the back "But pretty doesn't hurt"...your 1st sentence reminded me of that...lol

Negative attention is still attention. Focus on yourself and improving your team. I love fierceboard bc I always find great tips for personal and team growth. The rest is just a fun distraction to kill time. Nothing more.

Ok, here comes the lay it all out there part of me...I find myself wondering how certain kids can attain this cheerlebrity status when they aren't any better than many other kids who are never noticed...then I sit back and realize that if somehow one of my girls was valued and appreciated to the level of being a cheerlebrity, I would feel honored. lol So it's a double edged sword. Be honest...most of you who say you hate it, etc. etc. would JUMP at the opportunity if it was given to you. :)

Personally, I'd hate being a cheerlebrity. However good I get, I will still hate people Lol. ;)

I obviously don't know you, but I have yet to meet anyone who has refused an upgrade in their social status. It's kind of how we're made. We all want to be "accepted" and "loved" by other people. It's our nature. But again, I don't know you at all so IDK. :D

I wouldnt say I'd hate it but I wouldn't like it. Yeah at first It would be nice just to meet people but honestly I wouldn't like not being able to sit down or talk to friends at a cheer comP without people asking me for a picture. That's annoying! I'm not one who wants all eyes on me, but their are some people who love that. So I suppose it just depends on the person.

I'm not saying that everyone would LOVE the negatives that come with being "popular". I"m just saying I've never met someone who has been offered a higher social status and has turned it down...If Inside Cheerleading Magazine approached any of us right now and asked to run a story on us/our child, would we turn it down? I wouldn't.
