I dont think im tired of poofs, because I love the way they look. But some are simply TOO big. Like, whats the point of wearing a bow if its stuck between an over teased ponytail and a poof bigger than the girls head?
A couple inches of poof is cute IMO but nothing more.

This exactly. We do a small poof and high straight pony or half up if the hair doesn't touch the shoulders. I really like the small ones, but don't care for "poof as big as your head". CP looks best with something going on in the front rather than pulled straight back.

I like how my gym makes us do super high straight ponytails just to keep it simple. Some girls do poofs but nothing too drastic. They don't like us getting crazy with the hair styles. They prefer us all to look alike.

Most of this thread is about high ponys with curls, but I've always loved the low curly side pony with either a small poof or the bangs braided across similar to Shooting Stars 2010 (the Latin/Spanish theme). Seems to be popular with some of the NCA high school teams lately as well. It's similar to this: http://www.femalesfashion.com/wp-content/uploads/4.jpg and then a flower or non-tailed bow gets used with it. Something different but still cute and functional!

My hair WILL NOT hold a curl to save my life! The only times it held was Junior and Senior proms (and a bit for graduation)! I remember looking in the mirror before hopping in the shower and thinking "How in the heck did they manage to get my baby fine hair to stay?!" I kind of am. I'm really loving the braid into the ponytail that some stingray girls do. I think it looks so cute and it keeps hair out of your face better.

Do you have a picture of this one? My cp and I have been experimenting with braids into ponytails,but apparently,I'm doing it all wrong..she's keeps telling me exactly like the stingray girls,but I've had no luck finding photos...and I'm about ready to cut all of her hair off....:rolleyes:

I just tried searching for a picture and couldn't find one but if you watch either the new peach or orange 2by2 videos I bet you'll be able to see more clearly!

This past year the coach decided to "stand out" from the crowd and make the team wear a french braid that went from above the left ear down to under the right ear that ended in a curled side pony. And no bows!!! Just a colored short feathered barrette. You can see a bit of the hair in my profile picture. I can tell you, the braid was ok but give up bows! That part didn't go over well with the older girls. LOL
I will upload a picture if anyone is interested in seeing more detail.

My team never wears poof. Half the team hates them, and just a few want to have them. In the end it's up to the coaches and they makes us have super high ponytail with curls. It looks great on some of the girls who has super long, thick hair, but my hair is soooo thin and it's short so it looks horrible...

Aaaaand this is my hair, excuse the wierd almost-doublecheek position, but that was the bet picture I had hehe...:oops:
I do were extensions, but my expensive ones got destroyed on our first competition, (we mousse and directly curl the hair, so it gets really destroyed) so now I have to stick with my old not-so-healty ones. :(

I'm coaching a youth team next year and I wont let them destroy their hair it that age. Think I'll go with just a teased staight ponytail.
For my own team whatsoever, I'll looove to have big poof and big, teased, and curled ponytail :rolleyes:
