This thread makes me scared for when my son gets older and he starts getting into activities. I am just praying he doesn't want to play hockey because I am not ready to sell a kidney for him to play not to mention the 5:00am practices in a cold arena

Not directed at you, just a jumping point from what you said. I've said for years, everyone thinks their gym is the best, until they don't anymore. You should, or else why would you be there. This is why no one can be truly subjective about their own gym or teams.

I know lol that's why I admitted it! But I felt vipers was brought into it when all I said was I wouldn't be happy not going to big comps. I never meant for vipers to be brought up in this thread because that's not even what it was about. I just feel because I do generally say how great they are others just assumed that was the whole reason I jumped in this thread and it obviously wasn't!

Most travel, but some work for a year and play sports/do other activities while they're still eligible for a school-aged team. Some put college off indefinitely and return a few years later with no trouble.

I think it's a fantastic idea to take some time off. ..The problem is that taking time off of college is so much more difficult here in the US, not just because of university policies which aren't often friendly to gap yearers, but also because we pay full fees, so cheering as a super senior could eat through college money. In Aus, the government pays for half our tuition costs...

Dh and I would have no problem with our oldest taking a gap year (and mentioned it quite a few times) but she's afraid if she took the time off she wouldn't have the same drive to start college as she does now as a HS senior.

Is anything mean being said at the moment? Perhaps because of NCA? I just find it odd... I mean, if that were the case I wouldn't be surprised. I just hope that this isn't the impression that everyone has of Fierceboard.

I am sure it is both, but that tweet and the one about Christmas lights leaves me scratching my head. A lot of pot and kettle going on there [emoji53]
