I liked it! haha... I thought there were several moms on the show who did things I've had cheer parents do in the past!

This is gonna sound bad, since I've only watched the preview (stupid Canada...) I don't know anything about the show, but in the preview type thing, does she legit tell a girl to stop being bow-legged... isn't that a medical condition...? you can't just tell someone not to have... Idk I can't think of a medical condition other than that right now.. but that's the one place I saw that disturbed me.

The girl from Jersey Cheer, lexi, goes to my school. She used to cheer at my old gym. She probably dieeeeeeeeeeeed of happiness with this show! It upsets me that it's over:mad:

Dance Moms is kinda the dance version of Toddlers in Tiaras....both horrible but so addicting you can't help but watch.

to whomever said something about them competing all the time... they do. from what i understand when they were in vegas last week it was filmed as one of the episodes towards the end of the season. and the 16,000 could easily be added up due to a costume for each dance, tuition, traveling, practice 'gear', gas money to and from because they live farther away...

Just like cheer, though, you can find more local-competing dance studios. My parents sure as heck couldn't have afforded my sister and I to compete dance for 5-6 years if it were that expensive-not a chance in Hades. We never traveled farther than Mass (I live in CT)...and I did at least one jazz and tap as well as a solo and a duo/trio/small group (depending on the year). I should go give my mum a big hug for doing all that and not going crazy lol

I am not a dancer and have never been to a dance competition to just sit and watch but when I watched the episode of Dance Mom's and they performed that group number in what looked like lingere it made me think she was trying to create her own version of the "My Boyfriend's Back" girls. When it shows clips of the other groups performing they are all appropriately dressed but this woman sent those girls out half naked. I just felt she was trying too hard to create a group that is talked about like the little girls on youtube.

I forgot to add how do these mom's sit back and know it is wrong and then let their child out there to do it? They are your children not that dance coach's.

I so agree with this. It's actually not even her own version of those girls - it's the EXACT SAME COSTUME in a different color:

I thought that too when I watched it - that she just knew they were going to be on tv and that if she put them in costumes like that she'd get talked about just like the other little girls did.

Then when they finally did say something that crazy lady told them they were the ones who were wrong...and that it better never happen again. Now I know as a mom sometimes I have to let my cp's coaches do their thing...but I wish they would EVER have her smack her butt like that in a routine. To add insult to injury she wouldn't even admit that she was wrong - they didn't even place, despite being some of the best dancers there (at least from what we were shown, and they are veeeerrrryyy good for their age group, so I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have placed). And she still wouldn't admit that maybe the dance and the costumes were a bad judgment call for a competition in Lancaster, PA?!?!?! (FTR those Single Ladies girls were dancing in a comp on the west coast...very different than Lancaster, PA. She should learn her target audience a little better)

UGH...I do. not. like. her. She is so unprofessional. I about lost it when she brought the moms in the room and then told those little girls that they shouldn't listen to their moms they should listen to her - and then said "OK moms, you may leave." I don't care how good her dance studio is...I'm sure I would assault her. And I'm also sure we'd be spending money somewhere else.

The show is supposed to make the moms look crazy - it probably would make them look crazy if I wasn't so busy sitting on my sofa screaming at the TV about what a B she is...

I'm addicted to the point where I have to wait for Toddlers and Tiaras to come back on because I can't watch both, I go back to Dance Moms. Abby Lee is crazy, but she is the definition of some of the top dance teachers. There is a dance studio up the street and their ballet teacher is crazy just like her. I find it funny that Vivi's mom is a dance teacher but her daughter isn't better than what she is. Jersey Cheer wasn't drama filled enough for the viewing audience. I mean, a girl's parents not wanting to let her drive is not something people want to see and is very petty. I like the show because of the craziness. It's like Jersey Shore, I can't get enough of it (:

@Just-a-Mom I had no idea that the costumes were the exact ones. WOW this woman is such a "genious" in the industry but she is ripping off someone elses's work.

I am not a mother but even I would have had to step in if I saw any little girl in my family doing that. These mom's are putting up with this woman because they want their daughters to be "stars". Well that is a price that comes with that and they need to start thinking like a mommy all the time and not let this woman turn their daughters into something they are not. Sure the kids were probably having fun, they were 9 years old and probably had no idea the meaning of those types of things. Talent doesn't have to be shown off that way and it is just sad that this coach can't even open her eyes and see it. There is no way if I had a daughter that I would continue to work with a woman who acted the way this woman does. I just got downright angry when I rewatched the show because this woman had the balls to say that to those mom's. My mom would have ripped her eyes out over something like that.
