This annoys me so much. Especially when it's not actually used in the way it translates toIt's "voila" not "walla"
You were at a "loss for words," not a "loss of words."
Oh I know. I just like the way 'nother sounds better. I'm usually a grammar nazi, but I do make exceptions (when it suits me). ;-)
That something that would happen to my boyfriend. He says ideal for idea, i correct him every time but it's useless.Confession time.
My senior year in high school, I lost 12 points on a science project that I did. One point off for each time I misspelled a word. When I saw the paper I became so self righteous, and stormed up to the teacher and told her that she must be incorrect and that I was right.
That is when I found out that "idea" was not spelled "idear". I was in complete shock!

This reminds me of a story a former co-worker told about his son. They were not from 'round here and when the son started school he really struggled with the spelling words. Being a concerned parent, dad went to meet with the teacher to discuss the son's grade...and when the teacher spoke, dad immediately knew what the issue was. Poor kid was trying to spell the words just like his Southern teacher said them:DConfession time.
