I think you are missing the point. This is a cheer board. Most people on here have kids that cheer or are somehow involved in cheer. I have no interest in Dance.

well there is no ACTIVE place for all star dance. I know for a fact, that not everyone on here are cheerleaders. So I posted this thread in the hope of some reliable post. But because half of you know nothing about dance, you guys decide to be rude and obnoxious and say things like, USASF should cut dance and so forth. There is a Dance Moms thread going on in the random section, why am I getting beef for posting dance related but that other gets nothing????
It always seems to be like that for me no matter what I post and how nice I try be at first. But hey, you live and you learn. Fierce Board, shouldn't allow anonymous to be an option. If it didn't allow it, I can guarantee, that half of you ( not you, just speaking in general) would be saying some of the things you say to me and other people on here.

I'm not anonymous. You can see my name and I have plenty of social media contacts. And I still think USASF should eliminate dance from their plate.
But I also want to reply to something you said above. You SEEM to be saying that all star cheer AND dance only exist because not everyone makes the school team. I want to assure you that, though it might be true for some, it is definitely not true for all.
Finally, keep in mind that not everyone agrees with each other on here. In fact, there have been some pretty heated discussions this summer between people that are long time posters. Don't think you're getting special treatment. Ideas here will get raked over the coals. So bring your A game.

You know how you have this idea that there's nothing wrong with you and it's everyone else with the problem? you're clearly the only one that feels that way. So, to state the obvious, it is, in fact, you with the problem.
Another thing to realize: you can't change other people, you can only control your own reaction/actions towards other people. So, if you're feeling like something isn't going how you'd like it to go, you might want look within yourself rather than attack.

To be quite honest, although there are some dancers that enjoy dance worlds, most in the dance realm would 1) not notice if they got rid of it because most dancers aren't aware it exists and 2) most of those that do know it exists would not care because there are so many other national competitions for dancers.
Again- I say that as someone who danced competitively for 8 years and is still in contact with instructors at my studio (some of whom fall into the category of having no idea what Dance Worlds is)

I just think its rude to say dancers should just go to Nationals. Don't say that's not what you said because it basically it is. You're using that as another "big" competition dancers can go to. And to speak for other dancers and say most of them would not care who do know what it is, is wrong also. You don't know who cares about DW if you've never spoke to those people "who would not care".

Have you ever been involved in dance before? Your cousin has but have you actually been a part of it? It's quite presumptuous of you to say that most dancers do want DW. Regardless of the name of the competition, it is essentially another nationals. That's why I'm saying that it wouldn't devastate competitive dance like how not having worlds for cheer would. All Star dance IS competitive dance. You are dancing for awards at competitions. There are plenty of those (that are larger and more respected) without USASF getting involved.
