Yes!! That's the American err Obama Way. Everyone score the exact same because that's FAIR!

Didn't your boy Aristotle ever tell you

"The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal."

Teams should get what they DESERVE, which is to say what you have EARNED (capitalism)... They should not, however, just get what they want, or feel entitled to because it's what OTHER people have or have earned (communism)... Some people deserve to win, even if they win all the time, some people deserve to lose, it's the only way to have a winner

So, according to some, Cheer Athletics (for arguments sake) should go ahead and give some of their standing fulls to someone else who needs them more than Cheer Athletics. whaddya say there BlueCat

I like the analogy of the straight A student having to give a few A's to the D student cuz it's not fair that they both didn't get good grades...:)

Its totally possible and youre right the scoring gap was most likely big enough even with deductions. But i guess my point is that had it not been california... Lets say it was a small gym first time at worlds, doing same exact skills just as good...They woulda been hit way harder and thus out of contention. Again im not saying anything bad about cali cuz i think the whole program is insanely talented and they are a fav of mine for sure.

I thinks its better to teach kids that hard work pays off and not whining about being cheated....if there was a team that has cali skills...they would be up there....in fact...there are lots of them....this is pointless and it borders on poor sportsmanship...IMO

I was at a huge Worlds bid comp one time and speaking to a couple of people from 2 diff huge gyms and one of them said..We dont worry about this comp, we all know this one belongs to team A, and the team A person followed by saying haha and we know the next one belongs to you guys...team B. They just thought it was funny and accepted it....and sure enough that's the way it happened

And that's probably because those particular score sheets reward the styles of those teams... For example, teams like Top Gun and Georgia etc. tend to do very well at BUTBT because the routines they typically do score well on that style of score sheet. There are other programs who traditionally do better at NCA because the NCA scoresheet rewards their style of routine... That's not a conspiracy or anything

I agree with you totally...people who generally make these outlandish statements have rarely seen a score sheet and base their thoughts on results....yet...when broken down...the score sheets tell the story...:)

I'm not saying anything about a conspiracy all I'm is that what they were saying, they thought it was funny and it involved their teams. There will always be a questions, when there are elements that are subjective...I agree with many that score sheets should be public just like any other sport, but that wont put an end to this topic.

I don't think anyone's opinion on this is outlandish either, there's a lot of things out there that seem unimaginable yet they happen.

this kind of goes in this thread... what if judges are watching teams on youtube all season long up before worlds? so they know exactly how many fulls team A has and how many they're faking. I feel like judges shouldn't be allowed to watch videos (although that would be hard) of teams that they will be judging. It's kind of like how people on jury duty aren't allowed to watch the news if they're discussing their case (casey anthony trial)

So you are saying you think it is a bad thing that a judge would no the exact amount of fulls a team has? My goodness...no matter what a judge has or hasn't seen...shouldnt the most talented team win?

know in place of no...geez it's early....the difference between the Casey Anthony reference and a judge seeing what a team really has is that people on a jury watching TV...they are seeing a news media's "perception of an event...a youtube video showing how many fulls a team has is truth...if team A had 15 fulls and team B has 8 plus 7 faking...who do you think should win??

I think the judges should be scoring the number of fulls they see that day. We all live in the world of injuries, subbing kids in, new skills, etc. The number of standing fulls you see in a youtube video in January could increase before worlds (and other competitions for that matter). Judges should score what they see. That being said, I am in favor of judges being able to review the competition video for that day in order to get the quantities right.
