I thought I was getting a long awaited rejection letter, and even said I told you so to my mom as I opened it, only to find out I'm on the waiting list. This is the closet thing to not getting in that I've had to face and it's been tough. I have one more school but the reality of potential rejection sucks.

I guess even when you expect an outcome it's still hard when you face it.

Cp walked in from practice an hour ago and said mom can I bring my favorite cookies to school for my birthday. Mind you asked her last week and she did not want to bring anything. Kid has food allergies and never partakes of others so this is her one shot. Also sisters have been sick (not contagious) all night into morning today and I am wiped. So what am I doing - making the damn cookies - love mommy guilt. She was super sweet and has said sorry a million times and I had all the ingredients (including special white chocolate that I have to order to be safe for her). Told her I was frustrated but loved her and understood and not to try this again and she owes me on this one - I am keeping a game face on but so tired and husband out for work late tonight. If she was not almost out of elementary school this would not be happening. LOVED last year when the class was no food celebration.

I'm reading Petals on the Wind right now. Yes, the V.C. Andrew's classic follow up to Flowers in the Attic. Which I also have on my kindle but did not reread. I don't think I've read either of these since maybe 8th grade. If I download If There Be Thorns, it may be time to take my kindle away.

The Fault in Our Stars - I did enjoy. Both my teen queens loved it so I figured I'd check out what they were talking about. No regrets on reading it but it was not life changing; maybe if I was 13-16 it would have more of an effect. I will see the movie though and I will cry, I can tell you that now.
Perks of Being a Wallflower - on par with The Catcher in the Rye for me. Dislike both.

Gone Girl - only gets good in second half; it becomes a completely different book. Not a terrible read; I borrowed it on my kindle from the library.

My favorite two series of all time are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, and The Bronze Horseman series by Paulina Simons (a very recent addition to my "must keep on kindle" list). I am also a big Jane Porter fan (not the romance novel ones but modern chick lit books) and Ellen Hopkins who is both a YA and adult writer.

I'm always SO excited when I find another Outlander lover!!!! One of my favorite series EVER and I'm an avid reader and History major. It's the perfect mix of fluff, historical accuracy, fantasy, sword fighting, sexy, swashbuckling, and holy crap what happens next. It starts off coming across as a bit Harlequin novel-ish, but is very intelligently IMO.

What are your thoughts on the Starz TV series coming out? and the new book that I've been waiting forever for??

It looks like Claire and Jamie have been fabulously cast and the actors have great chemistry. I think letting it unfold as a series on cable will also allow many of the details we love be included rather than excluded which would have happened if it was being made into a 2-3 hour movie.
The new book...I cannot wait. It's been about 3 and a half years since the last one. Way way too long.
It's always amazing to come across others who love these books as much as I do :).

Oh I am beyond obsessed too! Yey! The new book? It's bee KILLING me how she has been pushing back the release date but I guess I'd rather have that than a rushed substandard book. I agree about the casting for the TV show, Jamie and Claire look fabulous together and Jamie looks absolutely "mantastic". <3!

The description on the video says that it is a diversity assembly where students get to talk about their experiences with diversity and adversity. So I guess she was just one of the speakers there, not like she was one person that just decided to talk to the entire school.

lol makes sense, i juts watched it from the boards so i was like why are kids at an assembly listening to a girl talk about her experiences. but i get it now. :D
