yes i was! my mom used aqua net like she was trying to choke us. i often wonder what the lasting effects of breathing that stuff in are. but in middle school i used to do my bangs like a wave. i would pull them up and over, hold in place and spray baby spray! it kind of reminds me of the poofs the girls do now! lol

hahahaha....I am a hairstylist and I even used the dreaded aqua net in a pinch...it was cement..it worked though....good times:)

Mid-late 90s for dance comps, when we did french braids or really tight buns, I was DOWSED in aqua net. We still have a travel-sized can of that toxic chemical in my house..

I love this thread... because on that first day in the fall when you feel that crisp air, when you want to look fab and break out the sweater and boots, you just want your hair to suffer from a brutal case of fierceness. My hair is fierce- mom fierce that is ;) Thanks ladies!!

i followed the steps on one of my athletes and it turned out perfect

I know I wasn't on F5, but this was my hair for one of our first competitions. I washed my hair the night before and used my natural curl as a guide for my cheer curls. I sprayed it with either Paul Mitchell's Hot off the Press or Redken's Hot Sets. and used a 1/2 inch curling iron and sprayed with Paul Mitchell's Extra Body Hair Spray.
For our last competition, I added in my extensions to add some volume, it looked fab-u-lous. Too bad I lost my picture :(
Btw, the reason the pony tail curls look different from the non-pony tail curls is because I didn't curl them. @princessmackenzie finished my hair at the convention center because I had taken too long to curl her volumous, lucious, thick, ethnic hair. lol

And I want her mom/stylist's step-by-step, detailed instructions for that utter perfection.
