I get editing action and reaction but starting a convo with "Kalani's not as good as she used to be" is just plain ol talking crap about a kid. I get her and Kira don't like each other but Kalani's a child compared to her adult self. No one in their right mind would agree to a scripted fight where they start it by talking crap about a kid.

I can see how Ashlee can be baited into answering that question, in that manner, while editing it to make it seem like she just randomly said it. I like Kalani a lot, but Ashlee isn't wrong---Kalani has lost a lot of what made her special since joining the show.

I feel like there's a better way she could have said that or could've just been polite and not said it at all as that's hurtful to say about a kid. She seems like one of those people that say rude things and just uses freedom of speech for being tactless.

Perhaps, but I definitely think all of the moms have been like that from the beginning. She definitely has a role on the show---she and Jill are like the old Christi and Kelly, and she plays it well.

I think Ashlee....and all of them are just playing a role.

I don't think the stuff Ashlee says are things she'd ordinarily say

She's had 5 years of watching the show to figure out what she needs to do to prove herself essential

At this point they're Reality actors like the folks on The Hills

The fact that they're acting is most evidenced by Holly and Nia....esp Nia since she's clearly no longer here for the bs

Maddie and Kendall are definitly acting like Teenagers now, Maddie constantly looks disgusted , and Kendall is just way too emotional. And what about that double standart, Jill and the Moms can constantly put Brynn down but whenever her Mom says something it is out of line? Annoying scripted Drama
And their so called ''friendships'' are ridiculous, they constantly talk crap about each other , every season another mom is the one who starts fights and then whenever the next one comes in they all act like they never had any issues with each other and the new person is the devil. That is definitly no friendship for me

I TOTALY agree with this... I always thought Nia and Holly were the classiest of them all, always handled themselves the best... And I feel the show is more of an "acting job" for them now... Everyones comes off as playing parts to me. Even the competitions seem more like "set scenes"...

I think the girls who have done it so long are over it. They are now in on the joke this show has become and are saying no more. They have had the chance to work with real people now in CA that know how things should be done professionally without drama and they get that the show is basically a joke that Abby is a small place dance teacher and thinks she is oh so much more and she just isn't. So I get their behavior far more.
Jo Jos mom either by her own design to be relevant now that she is no longer "the new mom" or the producers telling her point blank say this (as that is how it looks) stirs the pot so much anytime there is peace she is the one to break it but keeps herself and kid out of the conversation.

@Mom2Cheergirls, I totally agree with your post and I actually commented to my daughter, how much Ashlee reminds me of Jessalyn, her 1st season on the show being attacked by Jill. I really thought that Jessalyn would have come to Ashlee's defense or try to help Ashlee more.,,, But nope, Jessalyn is the new 'Violet,' the girl from the JawBreaker movie, who transform from the wallflower Fern... Yup, Jessalyn is the worse tormentor of all the tormentors.... Tsk, tsk, poor Ashlee cannot even pull her beautiful, unappreciated, tormented Brynn(ala Kendall) to dance with Cathy and the Candy Apples...Gee, what to do now?

Yeah, it's reality TV so we've known it's fake (though I can't help bt be drawn in LOL) but Ashlee's behavior has made that especially obvious this season.

And I really wish that Kendall had been more eloquent in her complaints about Ashlee's nasty comments instead of just screaming like a 5 y/o. It made her look bratty and kind of rude. "I'm getting older and I have more of a voice, and I'm going to use it." But you didn't... I could literally imagine MacKenzie doing the same thing when she was little, and it would have been fitting for her because she was young. But even she never reacted like that.

I actually despise Ashlee so.much that I've even enthusiastically taken Jessalyn's side in arguments between her and Ashlee. Never thought I'd see the day.

You're exactly right about Jojo's mom. Ashlee acts just how she used to act. They both act exactly how Jill acted when she came on the school

It's a weird continuum of desperation and quest for relevancy.

I also don't know how they all collectively choose to ignore all of the rude stuff Jill has said about Brynn. It's odd and conflicting.

My favorite part of last weeks episode is when everyone is storming around screaming and the camera cuts to Nia and Holly and they are sitting there completely unbothered by it all.

JoJo's shade at Abby... I DIED!

This has to be my favorite performance on the show.

Agreed, I think this Bowie dance was my favorite of the whole series so far! It was so beautiful and honored such an extraordinary person. Not sure what my second fav one is though. I have so many. I absolutely loved the one they did about slavery(?) with Nia as the lead. Or the Rosa Parks one. Basically I like when Nia gets to be the lead[emoji14]

This. I think they're (as in, the editors) are trying so hard to downplay Jill's transgressions so that Ashlee is easier to hate.

It's backfiring for them for me personally because I don't hate Ashlee. I actually like her. She's insane, undoubtably, but she's also calling a spade a spade and she does an excellent job highlighting how ridiculous people are and how they just want to be pacified.
