Um Abby made up that connection with Michael Jackson and a baseball glove.

His brother Jackie or heck maybe it was even Tito but I'm pretty sure it was Jackie was a very talented baseball player

Michael introduced the glove at Motown 25 when he introduced the moonwalk.

I'm pretty sure he talks about where glove originated in his book Moonwalk but I haven't read it in 7 years.

As a life long MJ fan....to the point that I attended his memorial service in LA when he died.....I can confirm Holly's suspicion that Abby just fabricated that

Eta: glad the moms googled.
Eta: I really don't know what Michael Jackson Abby learned about but Michael learned to dance from watching people like James Brown. This is really embarrassing for her.

And the baseball dance is called Club 42....? Jackie Robinson was #42. Jackie Wilson was a music artist that Michael Jackson admired......

@ErinS, I might be wrong on this about Michael Jackson, but I always thought he had the stage presence and flashiness of Jackie Wilson and his boyish personality from Frankie Lymon.... I also believe I remembered him (MJ) at one time comparing himself to these artists..,..

Yeah, Michael Jackson made no secret about his admiration for people like Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Motown artists in general, Charlie Chaplin, Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr. etc and so forth....and all of this is evidenced in both his music and movement

I just don't have a clue why someone who claims to know so much about the "business" would be so erroneous about an icon like Michael Jackson

Also Jojo was dressed like Janet Jackson in the Rhythm Nation video wearing Michael Jackson socks. It's all a mess

@ErinS, I actually see Abby as reaching...She is in LA, so, she must be an expert on the music world too... I see it this way, in 20 years, everything we know about music history will be erroneously change, anyway... So it starts with people like Abby...

I like ashlee but i dont like her at the same time. I will agree she acts exactly how jill acted when she first joined the team. So i find it odd how jill is so defensive against her. Although i dont agree with ashlee and the comments she makes towards the kids while they are all in the same room together, but lets be honest all those moms have done the exact same thing towards maddie and melissa for how long now.....

I just finished watching this weeks program and I strongly believe Abby got Michael Jackson mixed-up with the older Jackson brother (Jackie), he was the brother that Joe Jackson refused him the opportunity to play pro baseball and Michael favorite sport was basketball... Additionally, the baseball theme this week was so evident with #42 (Jackie Robinson's #) on the shirts.... So Abby just conveniently pull MJ in the mix instead of the lesser know n brother Jackie...

Yeah the MJ thing was reach and the routine itself was something I think a much younger team would do. I believe they probably already had the routine and she was just trying to make up stuff to make it fit.....of course now some people will believe it all true because they saw it on some show :banghead:. JoJo yep definitely Janet Jackson. But you know what I love JoJo. She learned the first season she was with them her opinions are not wanted or asked for... Abby wants me to do x,y,z well this is my paying job and okay I will do it and do it with a smile. She seriously earned that solo if things went down as they did (and maybe knowing this show it was always hers to start with). I think the other girls are getting tired of it and I get it.....BUT at the same time they are getting PAID for this and they have had many opportunities they would have never had elsewhere so bratty attitude and pouts just come across as ungrateful and irritating and more so when you see a kid like JoJo just do her job and genuinely grateful for what she gets.

I don't hate Ashlee---I do think she knew what she was walking into, but I don't hate her. I disliked Jill long before Ashlee came in and just from the references I've seen on Facebook and twitter, the editors are doing Jill/Kendall no favors.

The Maddie/Melissa drama is so old; why on Earth should she stay? And if Melissa is turning down jobs because of DM, she's an idiot.

As much as I liked Jill at one point (she strikes me as too loud and conflict-involved now at times) she was the WORST new mom on the show with all of the gifts she tried to give Abby in order to get Kendall a solo/spot on the team (can't remember which, maybe it was both): the Chanel No. 5 perfume, the new bench for the lobby, the massage table... it was ridiculous. Though I'll say no one annoyed the crap out of me as much as preacher Christy. Sarah was such a sweet little adorable angel by contrast. The way Christy interacted with Mickey made her look like the awkward girl on the playground who doesn't know how to just talk normally to a boy she likes, and so she annoys him to get his attention.

At some points I couldn't tell Sarah and Brynn apart. They would be good duo partners if they meshed more together technically

Also I never did competitive dance and I know that this "competition" has judges that speak to the dancers to critique them....but the fact that they flat out called Jojo's name only illustrates the fake ness.

It'd be like at one of those Cheerlebrity competitions (don't they do something similar with judges) a judge saying "Hey Shirley, with the 38k Instagram followers.....you bobbled"

I was gonna say the same thing---when she picked out Sarah in the group dance...yeah, no. I would excuse the Jojo comment because it was a solo and they call the kids up there by name, but in the group? They clearly don't have name tags.

I was watching tonight's episode with mouth wide opened... What were others opinion of Melissa, Maddie and MacKenzie's last dance competition and appearance? Did you agree with Abby's attitude and behavior?

I have been appalled as a whole at everyone's behavior this season from Abby to every single mother to even a couple of the kids and this episode was no different. The last few episode have been uncomfortable to watch, especially with the way Jess attacks Brynn's character and personality and talks about her in front of her.

I'm still watching cause I DVR'd it but I've become accustomed to fast forwarding through the drama and just watching the dancing. So just finished watching solos:: yes the lyrical was beautiful, it's a shame that Mackenzie was given and acro dance when I think she has a lot more potential and not just tricks... Now maddie, regardless of my opinions of this family as a whole or of Melissa, that solo was just amazing honestly... Maddie has shown from the beginning dance moms that she is a performer... Yes she has amazing technique for her age etc but she is an amazing performer... Now on to the group dances
