And no more Rocky Point :(
Ok now I'm mad.... they're bosses in their division. Someone on here (I forgot her username) cheered for them while cheering at GymTyme, and she said that RP practiced 4.5 hours a day, that's how high school cheer should be known (not necessarily they way all middle/high schools should do it, but you get my point).

Edit: Whoops, how did I get that wrong.... GT is in KY and RP is in NY..... but she cheered all stars @CheerKatie08

Since the high schools are under GHSA if they want any part (the other sports) to be under it they all have to be under it. Honestly state high school in GA is great (minus the scoring). It has a defined season, doesnt interfere much with allstar because it ends in November and allstar for GA picks up in December, and the high schools use lay coaches from the local gym.

I know it is hard to make a blanket statement but I feel like if all states ran like GA (except for scoring) it would encourage more allstar and help gyms out as well.
We're an "activity," but run pretty similarly. Our state is in October, so we're done with the intense practices by the time allstar picks up. I'm not sure about other schools but we've been on and off about working with gyms. I don't think it encourages more allstar here though... But missouri is weird.

I know there were at least two in Staten island. The one in Brooklyn, that's Aviator? Didn't know if they were still around.

There are two on Staten Island. School cheer is huge here with our catholic and private schools from 1st grade through twelfth so it's not easy to field All star teams here and the prices to rent or buy a gym are crazy. World Cup gave it a try here by working with a local gym to help them have a program and that didn't work out either. There are a mix of reasons why It's hard to be super successful here.

Yeah, space in NYC is wicked expensive, so I'm hardly surprised we haven't had a gym anywhere in the 4 boroughs..SI is a whole different (and yet similar) animal.
