All-Star New York Moves To Classify Cheer As A Sport

There is a a somewhat crude joke this whole situation with cheer reminds me of. A man asks a woman to sleep with him for an exorbitant amount of money (think a billion dollars) and she agrees. He then changes the sum to a paltry amount (think 5 dollars) and she gets offended. She then retorts:

She: What kind of woman do you think I am?

He: We’ve already established that. Now we’re just haggling over the price.

Cheerleading is a sport. We are all just haggling over price.

There's actually 2 in Brooklyn. Aviator (I don't think it still operates though) and Brooklyn Cheerleading and Sports. Brooklyn Cheer and Sports is actually doing quite well - their dance team got a bid to dance worlds this year and their cheer teams have a few national championship titles up their sleeve.... I'm thinking of cheering there instead of driving to NJ to attend CJA.
Really? Going to Brooklyn from Queens is like crossing the Atlantic, but I might check it out if it's not too far.

Why can't they compete at nationals if they're a sport? Is it a NY thing that sports can't compete nationally?

NH cannot, and I don't think Maine either! Such a shame because Pinkerton (NH) is amazing and would have multiple National Titles under their belt (in my opinion) if they could, as well as a few Maine teams in the past year.

No nationals in Maine, but we do go to New Englands.

Ok now I'm mad.... they're bosses in their division. Someone on here (I forgot her username) cheered for them while cheering at GymTyme, and she said that RP practiced 4.5 hours a day, that's how high school cheer should be known (not necessarily they way all middle/high schools should do it, but you get my point).

Edit: Whoops, how did I get that wrong.... GT is in KY and RP is in NY..... but she cheered all stars @CheerKatie08

Yes, I cheered at NY Cheer while cheering at Rocky Point. I would be really sad to hear if my alma mater, along with other Long Island teams, were unable to compete at nationals.
