SOT would be illegal because a full separated the two other backward skills. It has to be 2 non-twisting skills DIRECTLY preceding the FIRST double full. After the first double full, only ONE non-twisting skill is required before the next double.

Oh absolutely. Knee-jerk bandaid fix to a problem without really consulting the tumbling experts on this one. I appreciate the intent, but the implementation is all wrong. I've seen more struggles with the new legal passes then I did with people in the old legal ones. But that's a different thread.. :D

Bottom line, both those passes are illegal UNLESS the TG back extension roll was not actually a back extension roll...meaning if it did NOT stop in a handstand (which is what a back extension roll is), then it is legal. You can do a backward roll, back handspring double. Just not a back EXTENSION roll, bhs double. Might sound silly...but just sayin LOL.

After that first double, only ONE non-twisting, backwards traveling skill is necessary. You can have a full mixed in there after the first double. Confusing, sort of...not necessarily the best written rule, but it is what it is!

Am I the only one who finds it sortof ridiculous were having a very specific and technical conversation about backward rolls in TGLC? That's the first sign there's something really wrong about these new tumbling rules. Good thing he didn't hit that handstand....That level of skill is just too much for a world champion program like that! Dial it down, don't want to hurt yourself there.

I'll just be vindicated in that I really COULD make TGLC! I got a fierce backward roll!

Well, they don't HAVE to do a backwards roll...they could replace it with a back handspring or a whip. But that wasn't what the legality question was about. So...that was TG's choice to make it a backward roll....

But the way your stating this hand whip double whip double should still be illegal but as said it is not. Whether it's twisting once or twice the second double is not DIRECTLY preceded by TWO consecutive non-twisting skills. The second double is only directly preceded by ONE. Again, the wording is stupid, the rule is stupid. This has NO direct decrease in injuries. If hand whip double whip double is legal, there is NO WAY any wording should make hand whip full whip double illegal, NONE.
Because the 2nd double is EITHER preceded by full whip or double whip, BOTH are twisting, PERIOD. Have I mentioned this rule is STUPID?

Only the FIRST double has those requirements. The second one does not.
