Try the psychological approach of the Foot In The Door effect. If you ask for something you know they won't say yes to first they're more likely to say yes to the second option you present.

I was at the beach the other day and was amazed at all the faded and bleeding tattoos on older, wrinkled skin. Of course I thought of this thread! I am a fan of tattoos, don't get me wrong, but just think about where you are getting them and how they are going to look 20 years from now and if you can easily hide them if you want. If I sound like a mom, well, it's because I am.
