All-Star The Image Of Fierceboard

This board, for better or worse, is currently the quickest, most often updated, and easiest to navigate source of cheer information of all types. Updates on teams/competitions, getting music, industry recs (music, choreo, etc), news about rules/changes, general discussion, help with skills, legality questions/discussion, etc. While we do have a bit of negative (Large Senior sensitivity, 'Cheerlebrity' issues, drive by drama, the occasional aversion to TG unis :P), I think this board, for the most part, is about as calm as can be considering it's size and the diversity of the posters. Unlike some board started by a 16 year old girl in Ft. Nowhere, we have people monitoring, keeping people in line, and keeping people (for the most part ;) ) friendly. It ain't perfect, but it sure as heck beats the alternatives.

From the top down this year is no different than the others so far except a lot more volume. Twitter has helped us be a lot calmer because people can get their instant emotional response out there. As well the rules in place have kept things controllable.

I read somewhere that the guy who wrote the rules is a pretty cool dude (who never asks for shimmies, unlike some people I know)

Now now. I think Admin was in high school or just graduated when she started what fed into this becoming the Fierceboard.:D However, I do agree on all your other points.

I don't have a link to the article but I'll just type it here.

The question: How big of a role does social media play in all-stars? Do you think it promotes good or bad sportsmanship?

Juliet McCreary: Social media has a ruge role in all stars. It's a way of promoting programs and staying connected with what's going on with teams. At times, I think it promotes bad sportsmanship with websites like the Fierce Board, I can't lie and say I'm not a reader, but some of the posts I read make me think certain gyms hate each other and that everyone is always trying to compare cheerlebrities.

wow.. lol i never even thought fierce board promoted bad sportsman ship i mean yeah there are 'disagreements' and 'discrepancies' but if anything its amazing because it connects so many people from gyms

That's a heckuva quote! That's just like begging people to come read.

Yes gyms get in disagreements on here. That's like being shocked the Yankees and Red Sox don't like each other.

The thing that I love most about this is that it brings together all sorts of different people. From us Canadians (who are few and far between on this board... we gotta stick together!) to Americans, to Europeans, to everywhere! It's interesting to bring new perspectives in on different issues, see how different people from different walks of life view both the positives and the negatives of cheerleading. Although the fans may get heated, the arguments may go nowhere, and the comments sometimes go too far, it's a blessing to this industry in my opinion. I can post something, and have 10 people agree with me, and 100 people disagree, or vice versa, or no one agree with me (which does happen.. surprise surprise). I take any opportunity to learn about different types of people as a good one, even if I bicker and argue with those people at times.

Agreed. I don't have to like you to realize you know your stuff and I can learn from you. I mean, not YOU, but you know...

Bad sportsmanship? Maybe someone ( cheerislove8 ) should send them a screen shot from Worlds Fiercechat with probably 30 people from 30 gyms chanting for Tsunami and SSX...Best.Fiercemoment.ever.

It's okay, I don't like you either... ;)
JK obviously!
I have a question though... is your picture YOUR eye? Or is it just a random eye, and you're like "I'm watching you!"... always wondered that.

It's my eye. And I AM watching you. And Chat asked me if I was The Illuminati, once. And Just-a-Mom and I have a whole Mamarazzi text vocab with my eye. Mamarazzi annoyed: >.-( Mamarazzi happy: .-) Mamarazzi whatever face: .-I
