Response is very much what I expected. Not very informative in the attempt all will be forgotten
That is actually not a bad idea. Although I would send the letter from a new person every week.
I'm getting a little frustrated with people assuming I have some hidden agenda or that I have joined a "side". My only "side" is the coaches and athletes in the industry. If we are going to continue to allow our careers to depend on - and our industry to be governed by - the USASF, we need to know more about it. Why is that offensive to anyone? The whole "how dare you even THINK about questioning us" vibe that I have gotten from some isn't particularly reassuring. (I do appreciate those who have taken the time to actually talk to me rather than just making assumptions.)
That really is it. Perhaps it would be better strategy to let the powers-that-be think there was some huge scheme brewing in the background to overtake the industry, but I'm not a skilled enough politician to pull that off, even if I wanted to.
Perhaps some of our fears and concerns are unfounded, perhaps they aren't. When more of the way the USASF operates is (hopefully) made public, we (the coaches) may have some suggested improvements. We are getting close to the 10 year mark for USASF and I think it is fair to take a look and see if anything needs tweaking.
The ICU, USA Cheer, AACCA, and STUNT don't affect me much and I don't really have a dog in that fight. I'm curious about some things - mostly how those groups interact with and affect all star, but perhaps some of the folks that are governed directly by them should do some answer-seeking there, too.
I am going to have to mostly tune out for a week or so. I'll let you know if anything interesting has happened at that point.
