One of the things that I really like about this board is seeing viewpoints that are completely different than my own. I think this situation is very important to this sport overall. International athletes come to the United States to train in a variety of sports. Do we as a community want this to be the example set for these athletes in this sport? We want cheerleading to be respected and be recognized as a sport. Does the SMOED series encourage or discourage that goal? I do agree that the way representatives of Cali have behaved is immensely embarrassing to this sport. Should we allow that behavior and not respond so that there is no gossip? I think the vast majority of posters are trying to negate that behavior by responding and we are using fierceboard as a vehicle to do that rather than encouraging drama and gossip but perhaps there is a better way to promote both sides of the argument.
