there was a local team that took the brothers birth cert, scanned it and changed the name to the sister's, who was too young to be on a Sr Level 5 team

Labegg PM'ed me that, but I think it's 16. And it's a state id in place of a driver's license. But that still doesn't solve the problem for those under that age.

no it doesnt solve it, but yeah its 14. It could still be useful and cheaper than a passport

if you're in Mass you can get a state issued id at 14yrs

According to the Mass State website, its age 16, (I just checked) but it would be awesome if they are in reality issuing to minors under 16! But like I said, "most" states. I know for certain, VA, TX, OH, FL, CA all issue IDs to minors under age 16. State issued IDs for minors was a fallout from 9/11 TSA rules.

Again there are many companies that are all set up to do this. And the cost is next to nothing. It is a no brainer in my mind. USASF is out of it, The Gyms are out of it shy of handing out the website and following up that the family has completed the process, EP's have got to be happy as they have a 100% complete registration form complete with insurance information and waver.

I would even be willing to bet that the company would have someone come to the gym to do the process on site.

Why does the process of Athlete Registration have to be from within the Cheer World? There are MANY MANY 3rd Party Companies out there that are all set up, secure and are ready to undertake this process. It could happen this year. All it would take is for every EP that hosts a USASF Event require that registration be done from ABC Company.

This company is just one. They charge 5 dollars a year, they require a Birth Certificate, Photo, School Verification that included grade, Valid Insurance Card, Copy of Physical, and Last yeas Sports ID card if you are returning.

They provide a 2nd card for the coach in a book to present at team check in, as well as a team registration print out.

There is nothing stopping this process but not wanting to.

I would gladley pay $5.00 a year to fix this. I pay more for my CP's Bow

And by the way, This company gives $2 dollars back to the USASF for each card..

No I do not.. I just did a Google search and found 23 different companies that are already in place... I posted to ask the question why it must be the USASF that has to handle this when there are 3rd party companies already in place that can do it a lot cheaper. If USASF was to do this you can bet the cost would be around $25 to $50...

I am not sure what your implying with your post, but there are ALOT of issues that need fixing in All-star Cheerleading, and if they are not at least addressed it will not be around for long.

ACEDAD, you and I have discussed this topic, so I'm not surprised that you feel this way. But my question is how is the transparency issue related to this topic. I believe there is a public posting of all cases that are closed by the Discliplinary Committee and Compliance Committee, so I thought the USASF had suceeded in being transparent in this manner.

There is supposed to be. I got Jim to agree to do it and the first two got posted. Nothing since.

But is not just with this; there have been many instances where USASF has agreed or decided to do something a certain way, but when it's inconvenient the process gets changed. The 4.2 division is an annual reminder of that.

None that are completed to the point that they are ready for pubic release. I assume you are referencing all of the rumors as of late re: Disciplinary Committee. There has to be a courtesy granted to all affected parties to deal with verdicts in privacy before unleashing the public on it. In a world where USASF has been criticized for some of their hasty actions and announcements, they should be applauded in covering their bases in this manner. The public will get their hands on that information in due time.

Between you and I though (and the other 4,000 people reading this thread), I almost feel like the public doesn't deserve it, given some of childish, hurtful things I've read here on the message boards. Regardless, updates will be posted periodically--just not as fast as you might wish. :)

ASCheerMan - I respect you and thank you for taking the time to come on this board as well as on FB to address certain subject matters, especially when they are as vitrolic as the past thread this weekend that was locked. Just know that it is the lack of or perceived lack of transparency - or it not moving as fast as all would like that causes so much of it. It often seems that by the times things are officially disclosed there are one or two more new major issues that have come up.

That being said - and not putting you on the spot but asking for my general knowledge (feel free to PM me if you prefer) , is there a plan in place or being discussed by USASF/Varsity that will deal with repeat offenders? If the same program(s) are coming up year after year accused of something against the rules is there something that can be done? Also IMO there is a major difference in being found not guilty vs innocent and it seems at times we give the not guilty declaration but there is definitely something amiss that is not exactly innocent either. Are there plans to fully disclose those as well.

Thanks. It was an honest question, though - were there really no cases that were closed with finding during all of last year? And, at what point does something become publicly releasable? If a case is no longer active, as a decision has been made by the committee, a fine levied and subsequently paid, is it publicly releasable then? I can certainly understand not releasing information the instant that a decision is made by the committee, but at what point is that release made? On a monthly basis? Annual? Bi-annual? I promise I have no ulterior motive, I just appreciate your insight into how these things work. I think that, too, has a bit to do with people's ideas about transparency - we don't really have an idea of how all of this is supposed to work. Perhaps it would be helpful if an idea of a timeline of releases were listed somewhere available to the public.

I don't think there is ANY solution that 100% prevent cheaters, however putting ANYTHING together as a guide with consequences will def help deter it from being so easy.
