I already did, but they just told me what I should do to "fix" the twitter-induced buffering. So I guess they have no intention in fixing it. Maybe everyone should write them and complain.

Everyone who experiences the livestream-twitter-buffering problem: please contact varsity about it! According to their customer-service I'm the only one experiencing the problems. They can't fix it right now because they would have to kick everyone off the livestream. But if enough people complain, they might think about changing it for tomorrow :D.
