shawnmiller I think you got screwed and I think it is garbage that this "clarification" has no clarity.

Am I the only one who finds it sortof ridiculous were having a very specific and technical conversation about backward rolls in TGLC? That's the first sign there's something really wrong about these new tumbling rules. Good thing he didn't hit that handstand....That level of skill is just too much for a world champion program like that! Dial it down, don't want to hurt yourself there.
I'll just be vindicated in that I really COULD make TGLC! I got a fierce backward roll!

Yes, but I'm quoting you so that people see it again. :D:pBut the way your stating this hand whip double whip double should still be illegal but as said it is not. Whether it's twisting once or twice the second double is not DIRECTLY preceded by TWO consecutive non-twisting skills. The second double is only directly preceded by ONE. Again, the wording is stupid, the rule is stupid. This has NO direct decrease in injuries. If hand whip double whip double is legal, there is NO WAY any wording should make hand whip full whip double illegal, NONE.
Because the 2nd double is EITHER preceded by full whip or double whip, BOTH are twisting, PERIOD. Have I mentioned this rule is STUPID?
ACTUALLY YOUR WRONG! IM USASF CERTIFIED AND HAVE A GIRL ON MY SENIOR 5 Team who does whip full whip double and we've competed three times already and have not gotten deducted for it, read into your rules closely
Sorta makes you wonder how and who else might get screwed this season bc of "clarifications", etc.shawnmiller I think you got screwed and I think it is garbage that this "clarification" has no clarity.
That person must be talking about running since they quoted a part of the running rules.

whip full whip double is LEGAL...you cant twist punch twist so the whips separate the skills.

Not being called could simply mean it wasn't caught, not that it signifies legality.
The fact that this is even an argument and nobody knows only further proves my point.
The rule is stupid and confusing. And it better be fixed for next year-and by fixed, I mean removed and a PROPER solution put in place that actively discourages people from trying things they're not ready for (in a way that REALLY prevents injuries), instead of punishing people who can do things that others can't. One that consults doctors, tumbling specialists, and people who can clearly and concisely write rules in a way that doesn't need 20 people to explain them. Again, the road to the devil is paved with good intentions..
...That's from 2002. Holy heck how things have changed! Here is some an expert opinion (Interesting take on "taller athletes"):

Yes, I posted this earlier on the matter. Perhaps before they posted, they should have 1) not been so rude, and 2) read that this thread was discussing STANDING tumbling, so if they were referring to RUNNING tumbling, they should have clarified. Ugh, RUDE.
