I agree that they need to hype themselves up since they are a new gym and especially in the same area as big names like Georgia and Rays BUT I dont think they need to be handing out free tuition and scholarships left and right their first year. It just doesnt give out a very good first impression
Dont feel bad, you just wanted to know what was going onSo now I feel really bad about even starting this thread..... Sorry y'all!! I was just curious!!!
All I know is at nca they looked like a restricted five team with like one double. I don't see the attraction to go there at all other than to cheer for free. Nothing bout them wowed me and I would not leave GA OR RAYS knowing they have a good history/chance of doing well for a team that was not impressive at all. I understand they are new but it will take time to get to where other gyms in the area already are.
I agree. A gym in the central Florida area did this about 5 years ago. They never made finals and this past year didn't even have a Team qualify for Worlds. They gave free unis and all sorts of other things that drew a few level 5 cheerleaders that weren't happy where they were, but 4 seasons later they didn't even field a level 5. Own your gym, hire qualified coaches and run it right and the cheerleaders will come and your program will grow in good time. Make tons of promises and brag about your greatness before you have ever competed and chances are you are setting yourself up to fail! TG, WC, CA, CEA etc. built their programs over years not over social media and they, as well as other gums who are following their rubric, will succeed. Whether its World titles or happy CPs and their families, success is based on hard work, not publicity!I agree that they need to hype themselves up since they are a new gym and especially in the same area as big names like Georgia and Rays BUT I dont think they need to be handing out free tuition and scholarships left and right their first year. ztaprincess is right. You just don't know the circumstances. There has been a lot of drama with GA, and there is only one athlete from RAYS going to Trinity that I know of, and her mom is coaching at Trinity next year. Don't try to speculate the reasons athletes are switching, they are just doing what's best for them and will hopefully have a successful year at Trinity. All I know is at nca they looked like a restricted five team with like one double. It's post season and you having just given everyone something to keep them entertained:) us cheer families don't know what to do with ourselves all summer. Don't apologize for being curious and asking what alot of people wonder all summer :)So now I feel really bad about even starting this thread..... Sorry y'all!! I was just curious!!!
And how do YOU KNOW who they are handing scholarships out to. Just cause someone who knows someone who knows someone says so doesn't make it so. Besides the fact that it's THEIR money to hand out and do as they please with. If they don't make it they are the ones who lose out, if they do then great for them. Just stop assuming you have the inside track when you don't. Be patient and wait to judge them when they hit the mat :)
Actually there are a few girls from Rays going over to Trinity. I think most had decided not to cheer this season but with the free tuition changed their mind.ztaprincess is right.
