It's understandable. Nastia just didn't prove to the Olympic committee that she'd be physically ready after today's bars performance unfortunately. It stinks, but they can't take that big of a chance on a score for the team.

Very happy with this team. I hope someone steps up big time because as of right now I can't really see any of these girls winning the All-Around. Gabby and Weiber are the best bets. Glad to see Maroney in there. I believed in her! I'm hoping she can pull out a vault gold.
Honestly think this is the most solid men's team USA has sent in a while. Should be interesting!

A Sac didn't make it as an alternate devastated! but that was the 5 i had going on both sides for mens and womens...kyla ross and gabby douglas are my faves

Oh and I'm honestly thinking Nastia and A Sac might have been offered alternate spots and declined. It would not have surprised me.
But I'm PUMP Sarah Finnegan is in there! She's so amazing and this is just the experience she needs. She is going to absolutely kill it in 2016. Look out everyone.

So sad I missed the entire competition (boo work!), but I'm not surprised about the team. I was hoping ASac or Nastia could squeeze in there, but alas. I honestly don't know how strong this team will be (If the American women have gotten better, it makes sense that other countries have as well) as a whole..we'll just have to wait and see.

Saw on twitter that Asac was offered an alternate position but declined. Not sure how reliable that is, though.
